I used to bike into town to go to the pub. The bus service was rubbish then. Last bus was before 7pm. I would call this a Raiding Party. As I like to have dramatic names for things. I would either bike back if I wasnt too drunk. Or get a Taxi. I got more unfit so stopped doing that. And the bus service got better.
I thought I would go to town on Saturday night. I have my Gold bike. I got it about 15 years ago. I built it up as a mountain bike.

Thats my original build of it. Its got crashed into by a van so I changed the forks and wheels.

It was originally a 1970s boys 3 speed roadster bike. I had one in the early 80s. But the bike is a little bit cramped and the way its sits with its long suspension forks, its a bit tiring to ride.
Ive got lots of bikes. Im going to sell a few. Ive gots a Raleigh Caprice ladies 3 speed. Its a good going bike. Easier to ride than the Goldbike. I was given it a few years ago by the bike shop in town. I rebuilt it and tried to sell it. But didnt. So its been sitting in my shed. I cant find my picture of it. Is on my other PC.
I blew up the tyres and tested the Dynamo lights. All that it needed.
I biked into town. On the hills I ussually walk, it flew up. Even though my Gold bike has easier lower gears than the Caprice. I even got up the big hill upto my sisters house. I left the bike there. I told my sister I might collect it sometime.
I went to the pub. Was ok night. Didnt drink a lot though. I was going to walk home. But I thought I could ride my bike. Yes I know its a bad idea. But I could take paths and quiet roads.
So I rode paths through town. One I thought would bring me out to half way up a hill out of town. But Ive only ever taken my sisters dog for a walk through that feild in the daytime. And theyve built more houses there. Ive never off roaded the Caprice. Ive never off roaded with Dynamo lights. So I have to keep the speed up to see the track. And hope that theres not lumps and bumps there. I saw a Hedge hog. Brushed it with my pedal. But I got confused by the new houses. So came out onto the road still in town. But I managed to get up the hills out of town.
I got home in 36 minutes for about 6 miles. 10mph.
